The Jet Centre alone covers bowling, soft play and mini golf, and Bounce Coleraine is the area's big trampoline park. On rainy days, four soft play venues means younger children are well catered for.

Get outdoors and you have two free cycling routes — the Lower Bann Cycleway and the Causeway Gateway. North Coast Alpacas is a real change of pace, and Coleraine Museum and Flowerfield Arts Centre are both free if you want to slow it down.

More about Coleraine

Just south of Coleraine, at Mountsandel, archaeologists uncovered wooden houses dating from around 7000 BC, making it one of the oldest known human settlements anywhere in Ireland. People have been living beside the River Bann here for the best part of nine thousand years.

The town you see today was laid out in the early 1600s by the Honourable The Irish Society, and its old street pattern and ramparts can still be traced. Coleraine sits at the lowest bridging point of the Bann, where the river is about 90 metres wide, and the salmon of the Bann have been famous for centuries.
