More about Ballymoney

Ballymoney is the proud home of one of motorcycle racing's greatest names, Joey Dunlop (1952-2000), the "King of the Road" who won the Isle of Man TT a record 26 times. His brother Robert and their nephews carried on a remarkable road-racing dynasty, and the town remembers Joey with a memorial garden.

The town also keeps some fine old traditions alive: the Ballymoney Drama Festival, founded in 1933, is the oldest drama festival in Ireland, and the Ballymoney Show, from 1902, is one of Northern Ireland's oldest agricultural shows.
