Kilbroney Park and the shore walk are both free and genuinely rewarding. Killowen Distillery adds something special for adults, and if you're feeling bold, there's paragliding too.
The range is wider than you'd expect. Mountain bike trails, farm visits, riverside castle walks, and sauna spots all sit nearby. Warrenpoint is minutes away, and Newry has good rainy-day options if the weather turns.

More about Rostrevor
Rostrevor is a lovely village on the shore of Carlingford Lough, at the foot of the Mourne Mountains, with Kilbroney Park right beside it. High on the slopes of Slieve Martin above the village sits the Cloughmore Stone, a 50-ton granite boulder; local legend says the giant Finn McCool hurled it across the lough.
For active families, Rostrevor Forest has become a well-known mountain-biking centre, with miles of trails winding through the woods above the water.
